A custom storybook platform for turning text or voice into an illustrated, AI-generated story, with authors, a public library, ratings, and moderated sharing — now running entirely on Cloudflare as a read-only showcase.
The brief
A product problem worth solving.
Turn a single piece of raw input, typed text or a spoken recording, into a finished illustrated story, while keeping the pipeline safe to run unattended: content moderation, language detection, and account-level privacy controls all had to hold up without a human reviewing every submission.
The work
Built as a system, not just a surface.
I built the full-stack product on Next.js and Payload CMS, then moved it onto Cloudflare Workers through OpenNext, with D1 for data and R2 for media. Async jobs run the whole pipeline on Workers AI: Whisper transcribes, Llama writes, Flux illustrates each page, and Llama Guard moderates. The platform includes author profiles, a public story library, comments and ratings, per-story privacy controls, and account tools like data export and deletion.
The result
A live, useful product.
StoryCraft is live as a read-only showcase: sign-ups and story creation are paused, and dozens of illustrated stories wait in the public library, alongside a public codebase that demonstrates the full pipeline from raw input through moderation to a published, shareable book.
